Is that why you've made no progress, Donnie? [He questions back, his voice a little too calm. Anger boils under the surface as he offers his twin a calm look.] So much blood drawn, and you're at the same wall you were before. Just hitting your head against it until something changes.

[He's perfectly still, just watching Donnie.]

I had a whole speech I wrote about, how its okay to be scared, I'm scared too. [He eyes a vial of blood nearby, picking it and examining it. His body language casual.] You know what, I don't think you're getting that speech today.

You're going to apologize to Casey.

No.

[That one word just comes out flatly, as he just gives Leo a flat look as well.

Not even touching anything else his twin has said, because it's wrong. He's made some progress, sure it's mostly been in what doesn't work. But it's not nothing.]

Wrong answer. [He casually flicks the vial of blood against the nearest wall. The glass shatters on impact, blood splattered there.

He picks up another vial. His voice still far too calm.]

Let's try again, Donald. Apologize to my son for holding a gun to his head, for hitting him.

[The slightest twitch at Leo doing that, thankfully he was kind of done with that sample of blood.]

... No, maybe if he listened that wouldn't have happened. And I apologized for hitting him, that was an accident.

[He flings the next file in Donnie's direction, hitting the wall behind him intentionally.] And you couldn't think of a way to deescalate the situation? Not a single option? Not even a bullshit assurance?

I've been telling all of you it's none of your business and to not waste your fucking time on something useless. It's not my fault you're both too stupid to listen!

[He's picking up another vial, this one is a bit warmer to the touch. He holds the vial up to the light casually. He can see hints of pink. Kind of what he assumed.]

You've really gotta stop considering your life useless. Kind of a dumb thing to think for an apparent genius.

[He flicks his gaze back at Donnie.] You need to apologize to Casey. I know you wanted him out, but that was too far. You know it. If anyone else put a gun to his head, you would've killed them.

You keep saying that, but you don't know anything.

[Leo has a use, he has a place. He's the Commander, he's Casey's sensei and dad... Even before all that, Leo was the Face Man, and the leader.

All Donnie had was being hard to be around, no one understanding to caring about what caught his interest and unlike his brothers? He wasn't affectionate in the same way. So he always had to, still has to, keep proving that he cares.

So why the hell do they care now? It never seemed like they cared before hand.]

Then maybe teach your son to actually listen when someone tells him to leave instead of pushing at things he shouldn't push at?

Normally, you're just eager to fill me in on why I'm wrong. Yet, here we are, where you're all clammed up. Weird.

My son only pushed as hard as he did because you cut both of us off at the first sign we wanted to do something to help you. Kind of hard to communicate when you're in a hidey hole like this. [He tosses the blood vial over his shoulder, it shatters like the others.]

Oh sorry, I expected you to not be a moron in your old age. I'll make sure to lower my expectations of you both. [He spits out the words liker venom.

And goddammit Leo, he needs that.]

And no, I left because neither of you seem to give a shit about me and what I want for myself. Why the hell should I be around people who don't care until it's something they can do to make themselves feel good?!

[He lets the insult flow off his shell, rolling his eyes at best.]

You know, if you opened with 'I want control over this project, because it's my health and I want final say.', you would've had both of us working closely with you and going by your rules.

Or, you could have considered, Casey would freak the fuck out since we're the very last part of his family, and he just got us back. So, finding a cure for you would be a top priority for him.

I don't want to take control away from you to feel better. I want you to live. I want to actually have time with you. So, excuse the fuck out of me for being emotionally charged about doing something.

[He plucks up another vial, shaking it aggressively before lobbing it against another wall.]

[There's so much he could say to everything Leo is saying, but that's going out the window at Leo lobbing another vial of blood at the wall.

Sure, he's not as strong, or as big, as his twin. But he is lunging at Leo now, anger and murderous intent on his face as he does so.]

[Donnie lunging at him is not what Leo expected. He meets Donnie half way, slamming into him with his weight. He wants to bowl Donnie over. It jolts his chest plates, but Leo does not care.]

You gonna try to take on someone your own size?! Instead of holding a gun up to a teenager's head?!

[Oof, yeah he stumbles at Leo throwing his weight into things. A low hiss coming from him.]

Did he tell you that I wasn't even a proper gun, that he fixed it? Or did he leave that out too?!

You shouldn't have resorted to that in the first place! Why would you bluff like that!? [With the advantage, Leo is trying to shove Donnie into a wall. He's down an arm, but his size means he's got more of an advantage.]

[Better be careful with that shoving into walls, not like Donnie has a battle shell on at the moment.]

Maybe if he'd actually listen to me and left I wouldn't have had to do that!

[And he is going to shove Leo right back, as hard as he can and not even caring about his brother's injury in the moment.]

If you hadn't cut us off entirely, maybe we wouldn't be chasing after you like this! [The shove hurts more than Leo would like as it collides with a weaker part of his chest plates. He ignores it.

He tries to shove Donnie again, intending to angle him away from any glass or debris he left around the room.] Any time we try to reach you, you slam the door in our faces!

[He is easily shoved, mostly because... Well what he injected himself with earlier is starting to kick in, and he ends up jostling the table he was working at. Causing the, thankfully sealed, vials of blood he has on it to fall over.

All while he's starting to feel too hot and dizzy, which makes him hesitate in pushing back, but he does have something to say to everything Leo has said.]

Maybe you need to learn to stop chasing after the impossible, do you even know why Casey's plan isn't feasible?!

Lemme guess, cause you don't want any of the teenagers blood, because 'they're not real' family? [Donnie not shoving him back does make Leo back off slightly.]

I wanted to know more, but you left. So, tell me.

Because it's not their problem! [But yeah, Leo is right about that. But also it isn't the teens problem, if it wasn't for this world none of them, the older turtles, would be a problem for the younger ones.]

It won't work because if even a single cell of the infected blood is left then it'll be pointless. It has a 90% failure rate from my own research, and that was assuming I had the proper resources. [He didn't leave the odds in his saved research, though, since he never believed something like this would even be happening.]

You know as well as I do they'll make it their problem! When have either of us at any age minded our damn business?!

We have the time and ability to make the resources happen, Donnie! You can wish for things with spoons for fucks sake! Even if it doesn't work, it's better than not trying at all!

The Key? [Oh why, why did he say that? He realizes as soon as the words left his mouth that he probably shouldn't have said it.

As to the rest? Honestly he doesn't say it but... He doesn't want to die again, he doesn't want to put his brother and Casey through that again.]

[That draws Leonardo to a stop. Anger stalled by hurt and shock.]

[The anger returns as he slams his hand against the table-top with enough force to splinter wood. Anything on the table-top goes clattering to the side or off the table entirely.]
